REDDING, Calif. - The City of Redding will break ground next May on a park-style development called the 'Peaks Subdivision.'
But, some neighbors of the project still have a few kinks they want worked out with the city.
Remnants of the 2018 Carr Fire are still on full display off of Quartz Hill Road in Redding. Burnt trees, returning shrubs and weeds and even wild animals all roam the area that at this time 7 years ago was engulfed in flames.
And while the area off of Spinnaker Drive and Keel Court is a memory of the fire with its burn scar, it'll soon be a 120-home subdivision that'll offer wildfire-resistant and affordable housing.
For the 'Concerned Residents of Quartz Hill Group' they're hoping the city comes up with a plan for an alternate evacuation route of the area in case of a
