Just 24 hours after he pledged to deport “absolutely anyone” arriving in the UK on small boats if his party wins power, Nigel Farage appears to be rowing back on his plans.

At a press conference in Scotland, he told Channel 4 News that detaining and deporting women and children is not how his party would tackle illegal migration for the next five years.
