LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - This week has had a different feel weather-wise.

It may still be August, but it feels more like early fall.

Folks at the new Gatton Park are welcoming this change.

It’s been a record cool final full week of August. Lexington has tied or set a new record low temperature two days in a row and is on track to do it a third time.

Wednesday morning, Blue Grass Airport was 46 degrees, making it the third coolest temperature on record for the month of August. People don’t seem to mind.

“I personally am enjoying it very much. I’m a cooler weather person versus hot summer weather,” said Julie Barker, a Lexington parkgoer.
