CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A woman has been arrested and is facing charges after officers say she threw a Chihuahua at her grandmother during an argument at the Clarksburg Wendy's.

According to a criminal complaint, on Aug. 18, officers with the Clarksburg Police Department responded to the Wendy's location on W Pike Street in Clarksburg after receiving reports of a disturbance.

When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with a woman, later identified as Ida Eckenrode, 31, who the complaint said was homeless. The complaint added that Eckenrode had gotten into an argument with her grandmother, and had "picked up her small dog that appeared to be a Chihuahua and threw it across the dining area" of the restaurant.

Eckenrode has been charged with animal cruelty.
