EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. (KCTV) - The sharp instincts of law enforcement officials and a store clerk quickly put an end to what could have been a devastating scam in Excelsior Springs.
The Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Police Department says that School Resource Officer Justin Linard had recently stopped by an area convenience store for a sweet tea. That’s when he spotted the potential scam.
Law enforcement officials said an elderly woman had been nervously attempting to use the Bitcoin machine. SRO Linard noticed she had a bank envelope full of cash, handwritten notes and her phone on speaker.
