(FOX40.COM) — Authorities are searching for a 51-year-old convicted child molester who failed to appear in court on Monday for his sentencing, according to the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office.

The Attorney's Office said Carl W. Cacconie was found guilty on six counts of committing lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14 on Jul. 17 and was on a $1,000,000 bail before his sentencing.

Cacconie did not make his appearance in court and is now considered a fugitive from justice.

According to the office, the fugitive was in San Mateo County before his trial, and law enforcement is currently searching for him.
