CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — UNC-Charlotte held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday for the first phase of its expansion to Jerry Richardson Stadium.

The school says the construction will take place over the next two seasons, with as little interruption to the current gameday experience as possible.

The new tower will allow for more community events and year-round usage for student-athletes. It will feature premium seating inventory, including suites, loge boxes, ledge seating, an indoor club, and an east and west deck patio space.
