CONNECTICUT, USA — Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont directed flags to half-staff in Connecticut Wednesday in honor of the victims of the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis .

According to the Associated Press, the suspect shot through the windows of the church at children celebrating Mass during their first week of school. Two children, ages eight and 10, were killed, and 17 people were hurt, including 14 other kids.

Police believe the suspect, who was armed with a rifle, shotgun and pistol, then died by suicide, the AP reported. The local police chief reportedly said that the shooter was in their early 20s and is believed to have acted alone.
