NEW HAVEN, Conn. — West Nile virus, or WNV, continues to be prevalent across the state of Connecticut , even as summer winds down.

Officials at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, or CAES, are still warning residents about the risk of infection by WNV in the weeks ahead.

Thus far, in 2025, CAES personnel have detected WNV-infected mosquitoes in 34 Connecticut towns or cities.

These communities include Bethel, Bridgeport, Cheshire, Danbury, Darien, East Haven, Easton, Fairfield, Glastonbury, Greenwich, Groton, Guilford, Hamden, Hartford, Hebron, Manchester, Meriden, Milford, New Britain, New Haven, Newington, North Branford, North Stonington, Norwalk, Old Lyme, Southington, Stafford, Stamford, Stratford, Wallingford, West Hartford, West Haven, Westport and Wethersfield.
