BROOKLYN — More than a year after the city banned street vending from the Brooklyn Bridge, scores of vendors have returned, lining the pedestrian walkway with carts selling clothing, food and souvenirs, amNY reported .

During visits this month, reporters counted more than 30 vendors, despite city rules prohibiting vending on the narrow bridge walkway for safety and security reasons.

The Department of Transportation confirmed the ban remains active, but referred questions about enforcement to the NYPD.
