EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) - Several people gathered in Evansville to celebrate women's rights and honor the accomplishments made in the Tri-State.

This year marks 105 years since the 19th amendment passed that gave women the right to vote.

The YWCA is celebrating women's equality with a luncheon to honor those making impacts in the community.

Erika Taylor with the YWCA says, "We want people to walk away feeling inspired. We want them to understand the history that there were people, men and women, who fought for women to have the right to vote. So first and foremost, understand the history, appreciate it, and then celebrate the achievements of women who just leave feeling inspired."

The event is also a time to reflect on achievements in the community.
