Year three of the Deion Sanders era has arrived.

In each of his first two years in charge of the Buffaloes, Coach Prime more than doubled the win total from the previous season. From 1-11 to 4-8 to 9-4. It’s been a rapid progression for the CU program.

This season will be his biggest test yet. The Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter, is in the NFL. So is Sanders’ son, Shedeur, and countless others who were key contributors during the first iteration of the Coach Prime era.

The season opener against Georgia Tech on Friday (6 p.m. ESPN) starts a new era.
