CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A Cleveland neighborhood is raising concerns over what they say is an increase in crime, while police say they are already putting in a lot of work in the area.

“There are a lot of kids that live on this street, there are a lot of families that have been here longer than we have, and we just want to keep the kids safe,” said Nathan Alvarez.

He and multiple neighbors say they feel that illegal activity, including drug activity, prostitution, and shootings, has gone up this summer.

The area in question is in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood, specifically, around W. 73rd Street and Lawn Avenue, Elton Avenue, and Colgate Avenue.

Many people declined camera interviews over fears of retaliation.
