Four people were injured after a large tree limb snapped and struck them in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park on Wednesday afternoon.

According to witnesses, some of the people injured were playing dominoes under a tree, near South Concourse Street and Memorial Hall Drive, when the tree limb snapped just after 4:30 p.m.

Fire officials said two people are in stable condition and two are in serious condition.

Danielle Gordon, who was nearby when the tree fell and called 911, said it just missed her husband.

"One minute they are all playing dominoes and the next minute tree is on them," Gordon said.

People in the area rushed to help the victims.

"Everyone jumped right into action," Gordon said. Witnesses told the victims to stay still in case they had serious injuries, she said.
