There's a new restaurant in town, and they're bringing together Hawaiian fusion flavors with a Japanese twist.

Surfin Sumo, located in downtown Columbia at 1211 Taylor Street, will celebrate their grand opening this Thursday at noon, but they're already serving up their signature dishes. Smoky Kāhlua Pork, creamy island-style Mac Salad, and bowls stacked high with fresh proteins, veggies and flavor are just a few things on the menu. The goal, says the restaurant crew, is for diners to feel like they're experiencing a perfect beach day, with delicious food and laid-back surf vibes.

“We wanted to bring the spirit of the islands to Columbia,” the Surfin Sumo crew says. “It’s all about good food, good vibes, and serving this amazing community we’re lucky to be part of.”
