CHRISTOPHER, Ill. (WSIL)-- According to the National Association of School Resource Officers, threats disrupt schools across the US at an average rate of at least 30 incidents per week.
With schools back in session, officials are planning for the threat of an emergency.
Because of this, Christopher administrators spoke with News 3 about the importance of maintaining an open line of communication with parents and guardians in such situations.
While your child is at school, one of the last things you want to hear as a parent is that there is a school threat situation unfolding. That's why Christopher’s Superintendent, Kashia Cook, says they make communication with parents one of the priorities while doing everything possible to keep the kids safe.
“They are trusting us with the most impo
