BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Bakersfield on suspicion of human trafficking, police said.

Kalvin McCoy was arrested at about 7:16 p.m. after officers were called to a welfare check on Mountain Vista Drive in southwest Bakersfield, police said.

Detectives found McCoy "had exploited the victim for a three-day period," police said in a release.

He's being held on $195,000 bail on suspicion of human trafficking, pimping and pandering. He's due in court Thursday.

Anyone who's a victim of human trafficking, or who knows a victim, is asked to call their local law enforcement agency. They can also call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888.
