SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Constituents across the nation have asked the question about those they’ve elected to Congress: Is it appropriate for US Representatives or Senators to buy and sell individual stocks, especially if they have privileged information?

Congressman Dusty Johnson believes this could be the session to pass what he calls the “Trust in Congress Bill.”

“A lot of people in the public are frustrated when they see members of Congress make a big stock trade on Thursday only to make a big vote on Friday. I think it’s obnoxious. I think it should be illegal. That’s why I’ve been one of the key pushers of a bill that would prohibit any member of Congress from buying or selling any individual stock,” Rep. Johnson said.
