SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — A Dobson man was arrested and is facing charges related to sexual exploitation of a minor after an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) tip led to an investigation, according to the Surry County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Caves Mill Road on Tuesday and took 31-year-old Eric Wilmoth into custody. He was taken to the Surry County Detention Center.

Wilmoth was charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. His secured bond was set at $75,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 4.

According to court documents, he used a messenger app called Kik to distribute sexual materials involving a minor.
