HARRISBURG, Ill. (WSIL)-- Crews are moving fast on a new income-based housing development in Harrisburg.

There will be 53 units in the facility, and every single one is already spoken for once construction is complete.

It's the new Timber Trails Apartments across the street from Rural King on West Small Street.

The development has two- and three-bedroom apartments available, including four units with garages.

Our team caught up with Harrisburg Mayor John McPeek; he says the new units will fill a large community need.

“Housing is a big thing here. It's a problem. And for people to try to find nice apartments that are affordable. This is a great starting point for them,” McPeek said.
