ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – How does a cyberattack delay road construction on Abilene streets?
A cyberattack is slowing down road work in Abilene, pushing back progress on several planned projects, including Lytle Estates and C.W. Gill Park.
Max Johnson, the City of Abilene’s Director of Public Works, explained to the Street Maintenance Advisory Board how the attack caused delays.
"With the cyber attacks, our water utilities folks lost a lot of the plans they had, so they are currently making the designs for the utilities under the roads. Once they get complete with their project, then we will come in with our project," Johnson explained.
