The Texas Department of Public Safety conducted a “Move Over, Slow Down” enforcement operation in Killeen on Wednesday.

The state’s Move Over or Slow Down law requires drivers to move over — putting a lane between them and roadside workers — or reduce their speed to 20 mph below the posted speed limit when passing law enforcement, tow trucks, utility vehicles, emergency responders and TxDOT vehicles stopped with activated overhead lights on the side of the road.

In Killeen, there were vehicles and personnel from DPS, Bell County Sheriff’s Department and Killeen Police Department pulling vehicles over along I-14 near South W.S. Young around midday on Wednesday.

A similar speed-enforcement operation will be set up on Interstate 35 in the Temple area on Thursday.
