A newly enacted state law outlaws not only vapes with THC and hemp in them, but also disposable vapes made in China and other “foreign adversaries,” causing the Killeen Police Department to take a look at how to enforce the new law.
Senate Bill 2024 makes it a misdemeanor to sell or distribute these vapes with penalties up to a year in jail or $4,000 in fines.
The law went into effect on Sept. 1 and essentially bans most disposable vape products.
Killeen Police Chief Pete Lopez Jr. said this week in an email that the focus would not be on the consumer but business compliance.
