MOORHEAD — With school starting again, pedestrian safety is a top concern in Moorhead.
That’s the case outside a Moorhead elementary school, where a 9-year-old boy was hit and killed while riding his bike in July. It happened at an intersection one person who lives in the area calls dangerous.
Moorhead police just concluded a study on the intersection.
Adam Amin was killed in late July while riding his bike through the crosswalk at the corner of 40th Avenue South and 14th Street. He was hit by a city water truck. Amin would have started the fourth grade at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary.
“We had a lot of neighbors calling in concerned, giving us information about reckless driving and speeding,” said Sgt. Joe Brannan of the Moorhead Police Department.
