MARQUETTE, Mich. — Minnesota State Moorhead didn't have an ideal start in its football season-opener, spotting Northern Michigan 21 points Thursday on the road at the Superior Dome.

The dynamic quarterback-receiver combo, both seniors, connected for three touchdowns, helping the Dragons rally for a 44-37 victory against the Wildcats in nonconference NCAA Division II play before 2,021 fans.

“We had a good senior group that kept poised, both offensively and defensively, but Jack and Gage were able to find a rhythm when we really needed it," said Dragons head coach Steve Laqua.
