MINOT, ND (KXNET) — School is back in session at one university, and not only are there plenty of new faces, but it's the most they've seen in over a decade.

On Tuesday, classes officially began at Minot State with 415 new freshmen coming to campus for the first time.

This number happens to be the largest they've seen since 2011 and is a 15% increase from last year.

Dr. Steve Shirley, the president, said the increase comes from a number of things, such as recruitment efforts seen across staff and coaches during the school year and summer.
