HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- The Henderson County Water District says it's making progress fixing leaks that have led to big water losses.
In July, district officials say they bought 52 million gallons of water but sold only about 30-million gallons.
They say a major leak under the green river was a big part of that loss. Eyewitness News is told that the leak has now been isolated.
The district is mapping out older lines, hydrants, and meters to track down other trouble spots. To speed up repairs two new crews are being hired to handle line breaks.
The superintendent says getting the lines fully mapped out will help prevent breaks caused by contractor damages and will help accurately measure water loss in the county.
