CHICO, Calif. - Chico State has earned national recognition in Washington Monthly's 2025 College Guide and Rankings, securing a spot among the top 10 universities for earning a master's degree. The university was ranked No. 6 out of 585 institutions.

Chico State offers 25 master's degrees, including programs in agriculture education, business administration, and computer science. The university is noted for small class sizes and personalized mentorship from faculty who are leaders in their fields. Last year, it was named the No. 1 university for obtaining a Master of Social Work.
