PUYALLUP, Wash. — A nonprofit daycare center in Puyallup is facing operational setbacks after one of its three transport vans was stolen and later found destroyed, forcing the center to reduce its enrollment and services.

The Puyallup Playcare Center , which enrolls kids between 2.5-years-old to 12-years-old, lost its newest van in May when thieves broke into the vehicle and drove it away. Security footage shows a truck pulling up around the time of the theft, but the actual break-in was not captured.

“When our openers came to open the daycare center, they found that one of our vans was missing from the parking lot,” said Melinda Royce, the board president of the Puyallup Playcare Center. “It was very devastating to this program.”

According to Royce, at least two people were involved
