HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - It’s hump day night, and the weather has a distinct September look and feel.

The skies are deep blue by day and only marred by the early morning fog that clings to the riverbanks. The feel of the air starts fall-like as temperatures in the 40s flirt with record lows only to turn warm and cozy with highs in the 80s in the afternoons.

Looking ahead to the long holiday weekend ahead, the weather in a word will be ideal -- some would say perfect.

That’s welcomed news for festival goers heading to Portsmouth River Days and all outdoor concerts. Daytime parades (Portsmouth, 11 a.m. Saturday, Catlettsburg 10 a.m. Monday) will bask in the sun, while nighttime concerts will relish in the pink sky twilight and cozy feeling air.
