Dallas police want help finding an 18-wheeler they say hit another driver and kept going.

That driver, Carlos Campos, had to have his arm amputated as a result.

In an instant, the 26-year-old went from being able to do a handstand and pick up his 7-month-old daughter with ease to losing his left arm.

“I was scared,” said Campos’s wife, Lorena Macedo. “I was like, I need to get there as soon as possible,”

It happened at about 6 a.m. on August 19 in the 5300 block of South Cockrell Hill Road in Dallas. Macedo says Campos called her shortly after he left home for work.

“He wasn’t yelling or anything, but he sounded, like, scared, I guess you could say. But he told me in Spanish like, ‘Hey, like, I got in a car accident and I lost my arm,’”
