A mom of a University of Missouri student spent move-in week offering kits with Naloxone to parents of students on a Facebook page. She received the medication from an anti-overdose organization and wanted students to have access to it if needed.
Cathy Hoffman said she hopes no one will ever need to use it.
"I hope that my child or anyone else's child will never have to use it, but they have access to it if they end up needing it," Hoffmann said.
Hoffmann said she wants parents to feel that their child is safe while they are away at school.
