RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Families gathered into Sacred Heart Catholic Church Wednesday for mass with a specific prayer request on their minds.

"We need God," a church member told CBS17.

After a deadly mass shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis killed two children and injured 17 others parents and church members are questioning safety.

"We think they are safe at the church, safe at the school," church member Gerardo Guardado said.

Guardado says that he is praying for safety and peace for those impacted by the shooting.

“I would love if they could feel all the people that are thinking of them and sending them our love," Guardado said.
