Former Bragg soldier was among troops deployed for Katrina relief efforts

Morgan Grant was a 20-year-old specialist under the 3rd Battalion, 319th Field Artillery Regiment, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division Artillery when he received orders to deploy to New Orleans in response to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

The deployment was in late August and September 2005, between deployments he’d had to Baghdad and Afghanistan before and after the hurricane.
