PHOENIX — Arizona’s high school football scene has quickly become one of the country’s most competitive and desirable environments for elite athletes. The state’s 5A and 6A teams open the 2025 season this week with one of the year’s most anticipated games kicking off on Thursday night in Downtown Phoenix.

The Brophy Broncos host the Basha Bears for what’s being billed as the best game to see the Valley’s top prospects, including Brophy’s wide receiving tandem of Devin Fitzgerald and Daylen Sharper. The two pass catchers bring the wow-factor to Brophy’s offense, which is led by quarterback Case Vanden Bosch, whose twin brother, Bastian, is a linebacker and captain for the Broncos.
