There was a steady flow of cars circling the parking lot of the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico (HSSNM) on Tuesday afternoon. They all came to support the 43rd Annual HSSNM Drive-thru fundraiser by purchasing dinner tickets that were redeemable as a generous pick-up boxed dinner for two or more at Peppers Grill & Bar that very evening.

HSSNM volunteer Amy Winters said one example of generous support was that of a patron sponsored 30 dinner boxes to be delivered to the Assurance Home, so kids finding shelter there could enjoy it as well.

Organizer and HSSNM Executive Director Amy McVay Tellez said the event was in all aspects successful. This year’s theme was “Beacons of Hope” and included the Community Kitchen, Harvest Ministries, the Assurance Home and the Poor Clare Monaste
