SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WKOW) — The Sun Prairie District Board of Education is seeking a replacement to fill Katey Komoku's seat.

Kamoku resigned from the Sun Prairie Area School District Board of Education after serving since April 2023. She said her decision was based on prioritizing her children and job.

The board is looking to find the replacement for Kamoku's seat by the April 2026 election. Interested candidates must submit a resumé and application letter by 5 p.m. on September 14, 2025.

Candidates can email their applications to cvemur@sunprairieschools.org or deliver them to the District Support Center. Interviews will be conducted in late September, with the board aiming to appoint a new member by October 6.

The new appointee will serve until a successor is elected in Spring 2
