Season 27 of “South Park” is enjoying its highest ratings in years, but it’s also making fans wait longer than usual for new episodes.
Beginning with the season premiere on July 23, new episodes of “South Park” have been dropping every other week instead of weekly. That’s atypical for the adult cartoon, which is known for its six-day production schedule, as shown in the 2011 documentary, “6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park.”
Although “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone haven’t confirmed that the biweekly episode drops will continue all season, they’re here to stay for the time being. Episode 4 won’t be released until Wednesday, September 3, and episode 5 premieres on Wednesday, September 17.
