Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen (4) dives into the end zone for a touchdown during the second quarter against UNLV.

Week 0 was the official kickoff for the 2025 college football season.

That means while Aug. 28's games won't be the first of the new season, they are the official beginning of Week 1. The first day of action will include 17 games, including No. 25 Boise State ―the lone team ranked in the initial US LBM Coaches Poll ― in action.

The Broncos begin the post-Ashton Jeanty era with a matchup against Alex Golesh and USF. Rutgers, NC State, UCF, Missouri, Duke, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin are among the other Power Four schools in play.
