The MHSAA Division 4 defending champion Goodrich Martians and standout running back Chase Burnett face off against the Division 5 runner-up Frankenmuth Eagles in a season-opening showdown for the fifth year in a row. All-conference linebacker Brady Lipka and Frankenmuth blanked Goodrich 22-0 to open the 2024 campaign in what turned out to be the Martians’ lone loss of the season. The Eagles have won three of the last four in the head-to-head series . Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT on Thursday, August 28 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network .
