LEETONIA, Ohio (WKBN) – Not to be lost in all that occurred during week one, Leetonia’s 47-0 victory at Vanlue was as impressive as one could’ve envisioned to begin the 2025 season.

The Bears had lost each of its games throughout the past three seasons; compiling a 30-game losing skid.

Matt Altomare, who’s in his second season of his second stint as the Bears head coach, was excited for the school, the community and the program to achieve this goal.

“Just to get that monkey off your back and approach the season with [the mindset of] now we can do what many of the other teams are doing,” he mentioned. “[Winning] can be done. It’s kind of a good kickstart to the rest of our season.”
