Audiences flock to “MJ The Musical” wanting to see singer Michael Jackson — or at least a very close approximation.
It’s a tall order, and it falls on the shoulders of Jordan Markus, 25, who plays the King of Pop in the national tour of the Broadway show.
“Michael Jackson was one of the best singers and dancers of all time and trying to replicate that every night is no small feat,” Markus said, speaking by phone from a recent tour stop in Chicago.
“Playing M.J. is the most difficult and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my life,” he said.
The Tony Award-winning “MJ The Musical” returns to the Peace Center Sept. 2 for eight performances through Sept. 7. The show enjoyed a hugely successful run at the Peace Center in 2023.
