Tuesday’s storm impacted areas in Lyon, Storey and parts of Washoe counties with up to 2.5 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Lyon County on Wednesday announced crews were working as quickly as possible to unplug clogged culverts and clear debris from roadways after receiving reports of flooding along the U.S. 50.

Gauges and radar recorded .47 inch of water in Dayton, .25 inch in Stagecoach and anywhere between 1.5 to 2.25 inches in Silver Springs along the U.S. 50 at the peak of the storm, NWS meteorologist Justin Collins said.

Conditions began at about 4 p.m., with the NWS sending out an initial report of flash flooding at 4:10 p.m. Collins said closer to the Tahoe Reno Industrial Complex north of Lyon, the area received about 2.25 inches of water.
