ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A Roanoke man who is a registered sex offender and on federal supervised release for a previous conviction on charges of soliciting a minor, pleaded guilty to witness tampering on Wednesday, August 27.
This after he sent a 16-year-old boy salacious text messages he knew violated the terms of his supervised release, said the Department of Justice.
Lenny Baldwin Jr., 30, pleaded guilty to one count of witness tampering and faces up to 20 years in prison, according to prosecutors.
On May 10, 2023, Baldwin was released from federal prison and began a term of supervised release. After obtaining a job at Dollar Tree, Baldwin met and befriended a young boy, he eventually spent time with the boy and his mother, according to court documents.
