HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - State leaders continued to call for action on Thursday against WNBA interference of a potential Connecticut Sun sale.

A news conference with Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam and other leaders was scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. outside of the PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford.

The event was planned a day after state comptroller Sean Scanlon railed against the league.

Scanlon posted a video to social media.

“The WNBA is trying to take our team away,” Scanlon said.

The Mohegan Tribe was said to be looking to sell the team, which would mean it would move.

“It seemed like it was a done deal that they were going to Boston when in reality that was never a done deal at all,” Scanlon said. “In fact, the tribe wants to keep the team in Connecticut.”
