ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WDBJ) - Franklin County is hosting a town hall meeting on Thursday to give updates about the future of a new Career and Technical Education Center in Rocky Mount. This project has gone back and forth for years between the County Board of Supervisors and the Town of Rocky Mount.
The town’s mayor, Holland Perdue told WDBJ7 that the town council is set to vote on a text amendment in September. If passed, then the county can apply for a special exception permit to locate the CTE Center at the proposed Mod-U-Kraf property in Franklin County’s Industrial Park.
This comes after zoning issues at that property, which the county is considering purchasing. Mayor Perdue said the town council and county met this week to address traffic concerns and plans to pay for the facility.
