RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia leaders and education officials are celebrating following improvements in the Commonwealth's Standards of Learning (SOL) test results in math and reading in the 2024-2025 school year.
Leaders say the improvements are particularly noteworthy because this year's test was a little tougher. It required students to demonstrate their ability to retain and apply knowledge of 30 to 40 percent more content in order to pass compared to last year’s test.
