PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WLOX) Pass Christian High School is the latest South Mississippi school to introduce the Hope Squad program.

Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer organization focused on ending the stigma around mental health and preventing suicide through support and awareness.

School district officials said the movement follows a heartbreaking year in which the school community lost two students to suicide.

Three teachers at Pass Christian High School will oversee the program, and the students involved will receive training to listen, offer support, and guide their peers to professional help when needed.
