GAUTIER, Miss. (WLOX) - Nearly 20 years ago, Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Coast. On the eve of the 20th anniversary, residents of Jackson County piled into The Sound Amphitheater to celebrate the resilience and steady growth that came after.

The event was put together by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors in partnership with the cities of Moss Point, Pascagoula, Gautier, and Ocean Springs.

The site offered live music, free food, and set up what organizers called “reflection tables.” The tables gave glimpses at how the communities of Jackson County were affected by the storm and rebounded.
