Lipscomb University began its academic year last week with record-breaking enrollment numbers.

First-day enrollment at the university totaled 4,840 students, the most in Lipscomb’s history. Included in the figure is the college’s largest freshman class, with nearly 750 first-time freshmen. About 900 new students in total joined the university.

The numbers indicate an 11 percent increase in overall graduate enrollment and a 16 percent hike in new graduate students compared to the figures of last year.

“Lipscomb has been on a really good trajectory over the last several years.” Lipscomb Vice President for Enrollment Management Byron Lewis told the Post , noting specific enrollment jumps in Lipscomb’s pharmacy school and business graduate school.
